Don’t keep it in the dark

I know I’m not supposed to talk about it.   Been driving me crazy… I’m not the product of your imagination, I’m real, I’m here, I’m your daughter, not a stranger… I’m your mark!

Some mark… in space… though empty.  You’ve left me behind.  You’ve forgotten who I am.  Cold shoulder and silence, so deep, I’m drained.

Why bother?  Why change? You say… I was born!  Born to you and yet, you made it easy… so much easier for me to crack and leave. 

A daughter, no stranger, a mark!  Sush! Keep it in the dark.

I’ll make it on my own… just needed to let go… release me!  I’m now talking… I’m truthful, I’m right… I’m me… It’s my life.  My thoughts.  My strength of mind. 

Can’t take that away from me… I’m free, free from you. 

Finally celebrating, uninhibited, and strong!  No daughter, a stranger… my mark!  Want in? Don’t keep it in the dark!

Again

I, finally, know what it’s like to experience my feelings and thoughts…  A thinker, a doer… convinced… once again.

I drew your attention.  You kept me awake.  You told me to listen.  I told you to care.

Observant and wary… was missing my Self… was missing my fate… rare and untried… as yours was not mine.

Come tell the truth.  Surrender.  Come forward… don’t run!

I’ll experience my feelings, my thoughts, my life!  You do the same, and we might share our lives! 

Once more… and again.
