get-up-and-go person!
A simple direct question should always be answered with a straight ‘yes’ or ‘no’…
- Did you prepare the report? - someone asks
- The thing is… - someone starts fabricating an excuse… And - after what seems like an eternity - the answer of course is gonna be: NO!
But, there’s something about that other one… the ‘hoping’ part… because hope is never a plan, you see?! I will do! I will go! I will change!
If every sentence started with an ‘I hope’, we wouldn’t get anything done. We’d always be hoping… so let’s ERASE all of those from our vocabulary as phrase starters!
Of course you can hope, but you should also plan and move… to achieve! Wishing, dreaming, and hoping are good things… We should have hopes and dreams. That is called ambition. However, plan and move, and you will always achieve whatever it is you set your mind to!
I’ve been ‘accused’ in the past of being too optimistic or of disregarding problems as opportunities for change… I tend to see the bright side on things that - apparently - don’t have one. Like when my office was broken into… first thing I did was to take a good look at the whole picture and started to work on solutions. I decided that the next day would be a good day for crying… but the next day came along and I thought to myself: Why cry? It’s already another day! It’s yesterday’s news! I'm sorry but I do have the power to do that, and I go about life telling others that life’s good… life’s wonderful! I love being myself and I love who I’ve become!
I’m not here to tell you how to live your life… that’s your problem. What I do want is to tell you what works for me. And believe me, whining and nagging are not gonna take you anywhere bright and shiny! That will only drag you deeper into depression.
So what? If others don’t like the way I light up my journey through life filled with dreams, hopes and plans… So what?! If others don’t like it! Maybe they don’t like it because they feel they can no longer tell me about their so-called troubles in life since I'm way too optimistic for their psyches!
We are able to see beyond any ‘Yeah, but’, we can! We have that power… if only we decided to…
I’d love it if my words helped you. I want you to shout ‘Yes… so what!?’ Let those who prefer to see life in shades of gray do whatever they want with their lives because you have the power to sort of scrub-‘em-off and go on with yours… with your bright and shiny optimistic psyche glowing! And it will show!
If anyone decides to join you… great! If not, it’s okay too!
That which makes us feel grand and mighty is what’s important. The rest is only experiences in our journey through life that make us stronger… NOTHING is as grey or dark as it seems… it will only be so if we think it is!
Our past leaves a mark… but it should never define us!
Be happy and move towards new horizons! Don’t wait… get up, start walking and smile! Anything is possible when you have a positive attitude!
How will your ‘today’ be?
